About Us
Community Records, Inc. is a record label and music collective in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  We offer classes, record production and performance opportunities for artists from all walks of life, amateurs and professionals alike. Our concerts benefit the community at large by supporting local charities and social organizations.

We record bands and solo artists of all ages and styles of music. There is a place in our family for everything from through-composed classical to straight-edge death metal. We love pop, reggae, rap, hip-hop, indie pop, children's music, classical, punk, classic rock and, of course, folk singers.

Our Mission
Community Records builds community by bringing diverse populations together through participation in the arts, particularly music.

Community Records Presents "For Those About To Rock" At Michigan Music Conference
Community Records' Amy & Jesse Morgan and Mike Gentry presented "For Those About To Rock:  Collaborative Composition and Peer Teaching in the Rock Band Model" on January 26th at 2007's Michigan Music Conference.

On Saturday of the conference, Amy, Jesse and Mike spoke about their experiences guiding kids through the composition process in the classroom; and outside of school in the Rock Academy and Dayjams models. They initiated a dialogue with music educators starting composition and Rock band programs in their own schools.

The Michigan Music Conference is held annually in Grand Rapids at the DeVos center and Amway Grand. It gathers together music educators and business people from across the state for three eventful days of speakers, workshops, performances, exhibitions and meetings. MASTA, MSBOA, MSVMA, and MMEA hold general membership meetings, and presenters cover topics ranging from the spiritual path of the musician, to the very latest in music composition hardware and software, to helping kindergarten students move to the beat.
